Wandering around : Bandung

Still in the moment post-graduation, my busy life was about finding a job. So I got an interview here and there but haven't found the right job yet. On August, I got a call from a company in Bandung and they asked me to come for an interview. To be really honest, I had high hopes. But luck is the only thing I missed in this interview so it turned out sad. Blessing in disguise do exist, I got to enjoy a rest from finding a job for a while in Bandung.

That moment when you have to attend an interview,
black sharp shoes to the rescue!

I read on twitter, someone posted that there are 4 cities we will come back for once we visited. One of them is Bandung. Bandung has that kind of feeling of an old friend longing to be embraced after our long journey in life. Despite the cold morning that I can't endure (it was always below 15 in the morning), I am longing for the warmness that we can always find in any corner. Because I didn't prepare anything, I was like just writing down cafes in Bandung that I've been wanted to visit. And thank God, I have a friend that ready to get lost with me.

Meet my long distance friend, Intan.

So our first stop is Dago Bakery. I didn't expect this cafe to be my favorite but definitely, it is. The ambiance Bandung has given to us is about the cold weather and an-all-green scenery. So of course, they organized it neatly all over the corner. And it was so calming. We went there on weekend and surprisingly it's not too crowded. I always have that special pleasure when visiting a quiet cafe. Because I can quietly drown in a book or a cup of coffee without my eyes wandering around strangers.

breathtaking and breezy view

They have their own coffee shop as well!

We went higher and higher and this is a
the scenery we deserve.

Dago Bakery is located in Jl. Pagermaneuh no 57. A cozy, casual dining cafe with a classic European theme in the highland. Do have a visit before 11 pm, and I recommend to visit on the weekend because you need to be healed after a long week, right?

The second cafe is La Costilla Bandung. I admit this cafe is a social media sensation because all bloggers came to visit and their picture came out really pretty. And for this one is a little bit different from Dago Bakery because it's a Mexican themed cafe. I never imagined that La Costilla would be a different image that I already had in my head. This cafe is all about cactus and cutely patterned floor.

My favorite thing: cactus!

You have no idea how this corner is really captivated my eyes. So calm to have a book and read it in this corner. A whole new kind of healing experience

I love the tone color this cafe served for my eyes. White, blue, dark green blended into one pleasing corner. La Costilla was definitely made for those who seek fondness after a long weekend doing the same routine. The food was also good because we will never go wrong with Mexican food. I had a Crispy Beef Lasagna and Strawberry Mojito. Never once in my life, I'd enjoy mojito because it has a mint flavor in it. But mojito exists to freshen your body with its tingling sensation.

Strawberry Mojito is my new pal now
.

Crispy Beef Lasagna. A taste of happiness.
And because I bring my journal almost everywhere, I took a picture of it at La Costilla. The tone color of the cafe and my journal turned out really well. A journal is a must bring thing to accompany your travel. You never know what scenery awaits and inspire you to make art in your journal.

My art journal and the cactus.
One thing for sure, because of this short trip I learned that we can find happiness everywhere. Or if you're lucky, it will find you sooner. And happiness to me is finding a quiet corner in the cafe with a calm ambiance. Because I can sink deeply into my thoughts, wander around the cafe interior, write and make art in my journal, being content with what I am. But the thing is, you must know what makes you happy. So it will eventually look for you.
