Contradiction

A month ago, I was strolling around a bookstore. It's a daily activity that I never miss in my free time. And I stumbled upon a bookshelf full of imported books, which I always reach first as I arrive at the bookstore. Then I opened one of the books with Japanese doodle-like illustration on the cover. Before I decided to buy, I often take a peek a little so I won't be disappointed later. But, who's going to be disappointed with a book anyway. It gives us life and lesson to learn, sometimes in a surprising way.

And that book is The Forbidden Feeling by Lala Bohang. An illustration book that talk about how some feelings are actually forbidden, taboo, rare yet real. It's here in our life.

The interesting page of the book goes to a page where it talks about contradiction. As soon as I read the end of the sentence on that page, my heart was overflowed by the feeling of having the right paragraph to describe my situation.

A contradiction. 

As we grow older, don't you think things get more complicated? And life suddenly becomes challenging because we meet the different point of views on things. Other than that, we become interested in so many things in different way. To discover the authenticity in you, have you ever wonder what makes you authentic? Personality, check. Interest, check. Hobby, check. But what if you have so many interests in things? What if you can't just focus at one thing but many? Well, I have felt that somewhere. Pretty sure you've heard that too, but don't have the right word to describe that feeling.

I'm a fanatic of Korean Pop to the point I even went to a boy group concert 2 years ago. But at the same time, I have a huge crush on Oh Wonder's song. Since then, people always questioning my music taste because I never showed my crush on Oh Wonder. Same goes with the moment you scrolling down Angela Guzman's Youtube channel but at the same time, you can't stop watching Fluxcup videos because you need damn good laughter by watching their videos. I, a huge fan of Angela Guzman is actually a fan of Fluxcup creative receh videos too, Another example is when you fall in love with the smell of bookstore but you also enjoy being in the middle of the crowd doing nothing and wondering about life. And that is a contradiction, Where a very different feel in a very different interest brings you to an open-ness, a content feeling. And simply you are being genuine, You are being honest with yourself that you have that contradiction in the way you falling in love with things.

Well, it's not such a bizarre thing to feel yet it's a common thing that people see it that way. Because a person with a great openness towards everything will feel the same way. When you seek greatness, you just simply being open to different things. It will amaze you, left you in awe. How good is helloemilie's Instagram feed, how inspiring artidote's caption, how inspiring Selena Gomez iconic acceptance speech at AMAs 2016, and sure many other Hows is ready to amaze you? The world is so damn big it's filled with a lot of great things to discover.

The contradiction is simply the color of life. Seek for greatness in being open, and make sure you get the best-mixed colors in your life.
